Forward! at Honk Fest Texas

The Forward! Marching Band’s 14-member expeditionary ensemble made a 2,000 mile, 20-hour odyssey from the capital of the Badger State to the capital of the Lone Star State to join with our musical brethren from all across the nation at the 2012 HonkFest Texas. With limited space, we traveled with only the barest of necessities.

Many, many thanks to our gracious hosts, Caitlin Macklin and Sarah Kihls, both with the mighty Minor Mishap Marching Band.  Many thanks also to the Rude Mechanical Orchestra, who gave their blessing to us to perform their song “Smash-a-Bank Polka.”  Here we are performing that number at Austin’s Spider House Cafe on March 24, 2012.

Another angle on the same performance is available here and here.  More music from our March 24 performance is available below:

After a two mile parade through downtown Austin, we (along with 19 other bands) performed at the Honk! TX finale in Austin’s Adams Park. A tip o’ the pin to ZGraphix and Austin IndyMedia for the killer video production.
